Creamy Smoked Fish Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 250 g pasta (e.g., fusilli or penne)
  • 200 g smoked fish (e.g., salmon or trout)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 200 ml cream (use heavy cream or cooking cream)
  • 100 g cream cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh dill (optional, for garnish)
  • 50 g grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta: Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in salted water. Once the pasta is done, drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the fish: If using fillets of smoked fish, cut them into small pieces. Heat the olive oil or butter in a pan over medium heat and cook the fish pieces until lightly browned and cooked through. Remove the fish from the pan and set it aside.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In the same pan, add the finely chopped onion and garlic. Sauté for a few minutes until softened and fragrant. Add the cream and cream cheese (if using) and let the sauce simmer until it thickens slightly. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  4. Combine pasta and fish: Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the creamy sauce and toss to coat the pasta evenly. Gently fold in the cooked smoked fish to combine without breaking it up too much.
  5. Serve: Serve the pasta on plates, garnished with fresh dill and grated Parmesan cheese. You can also add extra lemon juice or pepper to taste.

Enjoy!

This dish is simple yet flavorful and creamy. You can adjust it by adding spinach, broccoli, or other vegetables of your choice.
